MICHELLE FINLEY, MA LMFT DMFT-ABD
Licensed therapist helping you feel better about yourself, your life, and your relationships
I have worked with kids, adults, couples, and families as a psychotherapist since 2012. I received my MA in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School in Richfield, MN, where I spent 4 years as adjunct faculty in the Marriage and Family Counseling program. After graduating with my MA degree, I attended Argosy University’s Doctoral program in Marriage and Family Therapy, while working as a therapist. I am also a Board Approved Supervisor in the state of MN for therapists seeking LMFT and LPCC. Prior to my career as a therapist, I was a HS Athletic Director and spent 12 years coaching college and high school athletes. My own journey of healing, coupled with the relational aspect of mentoring and coaching young adults, led me back to school to become a therapist and to helping others in a significant way. I am a "transplant" to Minnesota in 2004 by way of Iowa, Chicago and Atlanta. I have a 17 yr old son, a dog and a cat. You may meet Ike, my Pyrenees mix, as he sometimes attends therapy. I enjoy traveling internationally to learn about other cultures and communities, and to attend ICASSI, an international, two week training conference for 300+ Adlerian trained psychotherapists from over 40 countries.
I have worked in adult outpatient, adolescent day treatment, school-based mental health, and DBT settings prior to opening my own practice. I am passionate about teaching and helping others heal from past pain and hurt, and building a therapeutic relationship with my clients that includes laughter, compassion, courage building, and unconditional positive regard.
